Battle of Kock

The final major battle of the September Campaign was fought near Kock from 2 to 6 October 1939. The Polish Independent Operational Group Polesie under Gen. Franciszek Kleeberg fought the German XIV Motorized Corps under Gen. Gustav Anton von Wietersheim. The Poles repelled assaults from 2 October and gained local successes, but, surrounded and short of ammunition and food, Kleeberg agreed to a ceasefire on 5 October and surrendered on 6 October, ending the campaign.
