Neville Chamberlain

British Prime Minister from 28 May 1937 to 10 May 1940. He signed the Munich Agreement on 30 September 1938 and announced the declaration of war on Germany by radio on 3 September 1939. He resigned as Prime Minister on 10 May 1940 and served as Lord President of the Council until ill health forced him to resign in autumn 1940 (the sources give 22 September and 3 October); he died of cancer on 9 November 1940.
