32nd president of the United States, in office from 4 March 1933 until his death on 12 April 1945. Congress approved Lend-Lease after his January 1941 Four Freedoms speech, and after the attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 he obtained a declaration of war on Japan. He died at Warm Springs, Georgia.
