Resistance
Rescue of the Danish Jews
1 Oct 1943 – 31 Oct 1943 · Denmark and the Øresund
Warned of a planned German round-up, Danes hid their Jewish neighbours and ferried them by fishing boat across the Øresund to neutral Sweden, which offered refuge. Around 7,000 people escaped; about 470 were deported to Theresienstadt, most of whom survived.
