Bombing of Dresden
13 Feb 1945 – 15 Feb 1945 · Dresden, Germany
British and American bombers attacked Dresden in four raids, creating a firestorm that destroyed the city centre. A 2010 historical commission estimated up to 25,000 deaths; higher figures circulated by Nazi propaganda and later by deniers and extremists are not supported by evidence.
